Typology image of 12 photos 20455 × 8989 pixels Shortlisted and Exhibited at Art Jameel Award, 2015

The project was an experiment to come up with a photojournalism subject presented in different way. I used to come across this Balilah Kushks (kiosks) everyday and observed the different activities around them. In the same time, I loved how they were aligned across the beach. Loving the shapes and the subject, I decided to present the work as a typology putting 12 photos together. Talking about transition, there are two factors regarding this photo: First, the intercommunication between the photos in this representation, the different activities that's happening in the same place. Second, all those Khushks are now removed by the municipality to be replaced later with fashionable food trucks. Having this photo may be the only survival proof documented what were once there. I also see it as a symbol for the tendency toward the vintage in the face of the new, the transformation.
