The Project was part of “DO YOU TRUST ME?” exhibition by Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Heritage and designs by Goethe-Institut Gulf Region.

In times of country transformation, and conversations on the Saudi Arabia vision 2030, there are a lot of trust, mistrust, applause, and criticism. With the theme “Do you trust me?” I thought I should bring something that represents this transformation yet questionable. Therefore, I photographed this series of a very famous ongoing road work in one of the main highways, named after the Kingdom founder “King Abdulaziz” opening to Khobar from Dammam, branching to Khobar’s districts and neighborhoods. It consists of several photos going a long with the main body of the a bridge that some people may refer to it either as a symbol of “the lack of commitment” or “corruption”. Others are seeing as a symbol of transformation and “a solution we certainly needed”. They will see progress, or delay, yet it’s obvious that it’s unfinished. Thats why I saw the project very representative of the theme, as people would question it, interpret it differently, seeing it with different eyes and perspectives. I combined the photos to be shown as sort of a typology thing with the same angle and composition in a way that the curve of the bridge is somehow completed.
